MONTHLY MISCHIEF - APRIL EDITION

Happy and excited to celebrate Easter we were all looking forward to a long weekend. and then the COVID cases emerged in Brisbane sending some of the SE QLD area into a snap lockdown. Times like these we are so very happy to be a part of a community like this one, everyone cooperated, did what was necessary including wearing masks for xta further 2-weeks and beat the spread. Allowing us to still enjoy Easter celebrations and continue attending exercise sessions. So, THANK YOU all for your cooperation during yet another unpredictable turn of events.

ANZAC DAY + LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKENDS

This year Anzac Day falls on a Sunday, in lieu of this day there was a public holiday on Monday the 26th. We hope the weekend allowed you time to pay your respects and remember the soldiers past and present. Closely following this we also have the Labour Day long weekend, falling on Monday the 3rd June, time for everyone to enjoy some R&R.

BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTION (BFR)

Blood Flow Restriction training is used to partially restrict the return of arterial blood flow from skeletal musculature, this creates an environment in the muscles that increases the metabolic response with the use of a low mechanical load (20% 1RM). The light loads mean participants won’t be exposed to the heavy strain on joints and muscles that often require heavy loading for musculoskeletal adaptations. To find out more or to see if BRF is suitable for you - please talk with your trainer next time you are in!!
